New Zealand. River Valley

Today we left Taupo so early! Everyone had gone out so it was a struggle! One guy got chucked out of the hostel for the second time for being too drunk and us now banned from all Base hostels. Ha! Unsurprisingly he missed the bus.

Today was the first bad weather day we have had. It rained all day on and off and as we drive through the same national park that I walked across the day before the cloud was so low. Probably good that the walk was cancelled for the group today!

I ache so much so as it was raining I didn't get off the bus for any of the walk stops with about 90% of the bus doing the same.

After a very scenic bus ride we arrived at River Valley where we were staying which was an adventure lodge. It was like a wooden outdoor lodge. Looked very alpine. They offered white water rafting and horse trekking, but me and a couple of the other girls chose to take a hot tub instead. Great choice with majorly aching legs! Had a great view too of the side of the valley with a waterfall and was even pleasant in the rain showers!

I think I'll regret not going for a walk in the beautiful surroundings tomorrow. But for now glad I'm glad I stated warm!
